Hey everyone! Thought I would share a yummy protein bar recipe I have. I don't like the dry, thick texture of store bought ones and this homemade one is really good. It tastes like those chocolate no- bake cookies, except they are healthy! And my kids love them too! Plus, they totally satisfy my sweet tooth! But.....they are not DIET bars....they have calories in them so don't think you can eat the whole batch! ;)
Homemade protein bars
3 1/4th c regular oats, blended to make powder
2 1/4 th c chocolate protein powder (I use Syntha 6; make sure you get the one that isn't for body building because it's higher in calories!)
2 1/2 c. Adams chunky peanut butter
1/4 th c ground flax seed
2 c. agave nectar (waaaayyy cheaper to buy at Costco)
1/4-1/2 c. Brad buds cereal
Mix it all up and put it in 9x13 sprayed pan. refrigerate for 30 minutes.
I have never frozen them, but I know Emily purser has cut them up, wrapped in aluminum foil and put them in the freezer.
And I usually half the recipe.
Enjoy!!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing :) Now I just need to get everyone's addys so we can add them to our blog :)
