There was some question at our last meeting about what clothing to buy for winter training. You can go to a running store and buy gear, but believe me, while the clothing they offer is definitely superior, the prices can be steep! (I bought a pair of running tights a couple years back and they were on sale for $80 or something like that.). I have tried a few items from the Old Navy Active line and been pretty happy with them. While I have not tried their long pants, I have tried a skirt and Capris as well as a sports bra. They appear to have some great Pants right now as part of their active line. These pants look great and they are on sale for $25 on their website:
You can also shop Target, their Champion line is good too. They have these C9 Champion pants.
Key is fabric, make sure it is moisture wicking, performance or tech fabric. Most of your workout wear should be, but read the tags to make sure!
Layers also help, If you layer on you can easily strip off layers if you get too warm.
My favorite items for keeping my ears from freezing are my Bondi Bands. They are moisture wicking and they are light but keep the breeze off. In the photo it is being worn like a headband but in the winter I wear it lower over my ears, under my hat.
Have fun and happy training. Nicole and I braved the snowy trails for a 2 mile run this morning :)
